I am Hillary Hansen. I grew up in a small town called Aberdeen Washington in a family of 5 kids. After highschool I attended BYU-Hawaii then the University of Utah where I earned a degree in Finance. I currently live in Washington with my husband and 3 kids. My hobbies include reading, listening to podcasts, exercising, and going out to lunch with friends or family. Some of my favorite books are, The Screwtape Letters, The Hunger Games, The Book Thief, My name is Asher Lev, and Outliers. I don’t particularly enjoy movies, but I love music. Anything I do remotely well, I do infinitely better when listening to music.
Amy Cooper – Hillary told me I have to post a picture of myself with my bio, and I suppose it makes sense…but after scouring through my photos for over an hour, I’ve yet to find a picture of myself I truly like that doesn’t have me two inches from my husband, one of my kids, or a good friend. (Check back soon for a better picture. I’m working on it.) So I’m definitely settling with this picture, but it provides a side benefit by telling a small story to let you know me a little better. You can see that I’m a mom (double-stroller) and a runner (stretching after pushing that 90-lb load for a few miles), and if you recognized OMSI‘s parking lot in the background (there’s a great paved running/biking trail in that runs behind OMSI), you can also tell I live in the Portland, Oregon area (and love it here!). That sums me up pretty well, leaving out only that I love to read (I’m insatiably starving to learn everything interesting) and I go through food-frenzies once in a while when I’m captivated by food photos, trying new recipes, food blogs, and of course, eating really good food. Perhaps I should add that I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Brigham Young University, and I would love to go back to school someday for a graduate degree.
